How it works

The usual reason to put photos into a PDF is that a PDF behaves like a document and a folder of images does not. Ten photos of a receipt, a contract, a whiteboard or an ID card become one file that opens page by page in the right order, prints on paper of a known size, and can be attached to an email or an application form without the recipient having to sort anything. This tool makes that file. Each image becomes one page, in the order you added them.
The page size setting decides what kind of document you get. Same as the image makes each page exactly the shape of its photo, which is right when the images are the point — a portfolio, a set of screenshots. A4 or Letter makes every page a standard sheet, with the image scaled to fit inside the margins and centred, which is right when the file is going to be printed or is standing in for a scanned document. Images are never stretched, cropped or enlarged; a small image on an A4 page simply sits in the middle with space around it.
Resolution deserves a word because PDF has no fixed pixel grid. On a standard page, a 3000-pixel-wide photo is scaled down to fit and keeps every one of its pixels for zooming and printing. On a same-as-image page, the page is sized so the image appears at 72 pixels per inch, which is only a nominal size — the pixels are all still there.
PNG transparency is kept in the file, and most viewers show it over white. Password protection, page numbers and text are separate jobs for separate tools.
Questions people ask
- In what order do the pages come out?
- The order you added the images, which is the order shown in the list. If it is wrong, press Clear and add them again in the sequence you want.
- Will my photos be compressed or resized?
- No. The image data is placed into the PDF as it is, at full resolution. JPGs keep their existing compression; PNGs are stored losslessly. The file will be roughly the size of the images added together.
- Which page size should I pick?
- Choose A4 or Letter when the PDF will be printed or is standing in for a scanned document. Choose Same as the image when the pictures themselves are the point and you do not want white space around them.
- What does the margin do?
- It keeps the image away from the edge of the page. On A4 or Letter that leaves a printable border; with Same as the image it simply adds a frame of white around the picture. Set it to 0 for none.
- Can I add WebP or HEIC images?
- Not directly — PDF can only embed JPG and PNG. Convert those files first with the WebP to JPG or HEIC to JPG tools, then add the results here.
- Are my images uploaded?
- No. The PDF is assembled by your browser on this page and the images never leave your device.
